ALBANY, NY (April 17, 2012) – The new Recovery Sports Grill in Guilderland officially opened its doors to the public at 2 p.m. yesterday. The soft opening marked the twelfth owned-and-operated unit for the Albany-based restaurant group, and ninth in New York.
Located at 2080 Western Avenue in Hamilton Square—formerly the 20 Mall— the 4,500-square-foot, 190-seat restaurant features over 30 high-definition TVs and three 125-inch projection screens, offering a multitude of sports on each daily. Each table is equipped with a Soundog tabletop speaker that will allow guests to hear the game of their choice on their preferred TV. Additionally, there is a small lounge area and arcade, emphasizing the restaurant’s family-friendly atmosphere.
The restaurant, which will employ 45 full time and part time employees, offers fresh, casual American fare made in-house each day. The restaurant will be open seven days a week: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday.
“We’re extremely excited to open our doors to Guilderland,” said general manager, Padrick Smith. “The local schools and sports teams have been great to us throughout the decoration process of the restaurant. We’re thrilled to finally be able to show it off to them and the rest of the community.”
The décor is largely tied in with area sports teams, high schools, and colleges. Siena, University at Albany, Guilderland High School, Duanesburg High School, Mohonasen High School, and Clayton A. Bouton High in Voorheesville will all be represented.
Four new Recovery Sports Grill properties have opened since September, with locations in Malta, Queensbury, Charleston, W.V., and most recently Guilderland.
