ALBANY, NY (June 13, 2013) – The BBL family of companies has a long, proud tradition of community service throughout the 20-state eastern region it serves. So in celebration of 40 years of service in property design-development, construction, financing, and management, the company is donating 60 gifts of $1000 each to local community groups selected by the employees who live and work in each of those communities.
BBL Hospitality, BBL Construction Services, BBL Carlton, BBL Medical Facilities, and BBL Campus Development associates nominated a total of 100 charitable gift grantees for what was originally intended to be forty $1000 gifts. Each nominee had to be a local, small 501(c)(3) organization and not one of the larger organizations supported each year by BBL Charitable (such as the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, and the Northeastern Center for Disability Services). Each nominee was asked to submit a mission statement and a proposal of how they would use the funds.
“The purpose of this program is to give back into the communities where our associates live and work,’ explained Carrie Hillebrandt, corporate director of sales and marketing. “We were overwhelmed by the positive response. In the end, we decided to give out 60 total awards because there were so many deserving nominations.”
A representative of each organization receiving a gift has been invited to attend the Albany Business Review Partners in Philanthropy reception at the Troy Hilton Garden Inn in Troy in October 2013.
